This is my new journey of discovery; Printmaking.
Having studied with the OCA on two previous courses I have found through study, research, exhibitions and just ‘doing’ that as well as weaving, I enjoy both stitch and printing.
I had briefly explored printing and stitching on the Textile Foundation course and a visit to Ctrl/Shift at the National Centre for Craft & Design introduced me to the work of artists such as Dawn Dupree, Sumi Perera & Flox den Hartog Jager, all three artists incorporate both disciplines into their work.
Their work has inspired me to look at textiles in another way and give me more of an understanding of how two disciplines can be merged as one, and in doing so I have made the decision to change my degree path and I have now switched to the Creative Arts pathway, choosing Textile & Printmaking as my study subjects.
